D9 Community Meeting on December 3, 2024

Please join us for a CCSD Constituent District 9 Community Meeting on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at 5:30 PM, here at St. John’s High School.

At the meeting, district leaders will gather community suggestions and ideas on ways to strengthen the school feeder pattern, leading to increased retention of zoned students in the Constituent District 9 area.

Cell phone ban policy
St. John’s High School Personal Electronic Device Policy

 

  • Students are not allowed to use cell phones or any personal electronic device that can connect to the internet, including, but not limited to, smart watches, tablets, and personal laptops, between the hours of 6:55 am and 2:20 pm during an instructional school day.  

 

  • Cell phones and other personal electronic devices must be turned off and placed out of sight (in a bookbag or purse) during the prohibited times. 

 

  • Devices can be used when approved for instructional purposes by a teacher and administration. 

 

  • Violation of this policy will follow the CCSD Progressive Discipline Plan.

Savannah Altine has been recognized as the October Student of the Month for the Elevation award
October Student of the Month

Congratulations to Savannah Altine for being selected as the October Student of the Month for the Elevation Award!

Savannah worked hard to help the school provide an amazing Homecoming Dance. She has been working so hard academically this year on top of being involved with helping to make her senior year a memorable experience.

This award demonstrates excellence in community service, notable achievements, exemplary character, leadership, and a positive, respectful attitude toward others.

 

Caspian Ford has been recognized as the October Athlete of the Month
October Athlete of the Month

Congratulations to Caspian Ford for being selected as the October Athlete of the Month!

Caspian Ford is receiving this award for his exceptional dedication and commitment to the STJ Volleyball team. Caspian originally aspired to establish a boys' volleyball team, but when participation fell short, he did not let that deter him. Instead, he eagerly joined the Lady Islanders as a manager, bringing knowledge, diligence, and a strong work ethic. 

This award is awarded to students that actively participate in a sport during the current semester and consistently exhibit exemplary sportsmanship both on and off the field. 
Michael (Timmy) Floyd has been recognized as the October Student of the Month for Outstanding Effort
October Student of the Month for Outstanding Effort

Congratulations to Michael (Timmy) Floyd for being selected as the October Student of the Month for Outstanding Effort!

He has shown so much growth and progress this year academically, socially, and behaviorally. He finished the first quarter with high grades and teachers have noticed an improvement in his effort and attitude this year.

This award honors students who demonstrate exceptional dedication by taking responsibility, striving to reach their potential, persevering through challenges, and showing measurable progress or improvement. This award celebrates the student's effort and growth. 
Roderick Waring has been recognized as the October Islander of the Month
October Islander of the Month

Congratulations to Roderick Waring for being selected as the October Islander of the Month!

Roddy comes to school every day ready to do his best and always puts his best effort into all of his assignments. He is helpful to his peers and is always trying to better himself as a student. He embodies the true spirit of what it means to be an "Islander." After overcoming significant challenges, he returned to STJ with a renewed determination to persevere and complete his senior year with passion and purpose. .

This award recognizes students that excel in academics, demonstrate exceptional effort and character, maintain exemplary behavior, foster positive social relationships, and uphold strong attendance and punctuality. This award celebrates students who go above and beyond in their academic and personal endeavors.

Educator of the Month - September

Congratulations to Mr. Semanovich for being chosen St. John's September Educator of the Month!  

The colleague that nominated him said, "Mr. S has done excellent work with our up-and-coming band program. He has the students excited, engaged and inspired. They have performed at the last two football games and it appears the performance numbers are increasing. Mr. S has given of his personal time to attend these events and does so with joy and laughter. He has a good rapport with his students and mutual respect is constantly displayed. I can't wait to see what an addition the band will be at our next pep rally. Mr. Semanovich deserves to be our Teacher of the Month."
